Often you’ll be told that you will ‘fall behind in your industry’ if you don’t adopt their product.
However, modern systems are becoming increasingly ‘open’ and businesses can integrate and interface to achieve competitive advantage. Task-specific solutions mean you don’t have to ‘throw everything out’ and start again. Why migrate to a whole new system such as a generic ERP system if the most benefit can be obtained simply by adding targeted functionality, supported by a specific new process?
